Call for Proposals

Writers, editors, publishers, community groups, anyone with a passion for books: submit your event proposal for the sixth annual Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival, taking place on Saturday, May 7, 2022. The event can be a panel discussion, solo book talk, reading, masterclass or something completely new and original, aimed at adults, children, or YA audiences. We are planning to be in person outside in tents for Festival Day. Other events and classes may be held indoors or online via Zoom or Crowdcast, as required.

To submit your proposals, please email montclairliteraryfestival@gmail.com with:

  • Your name, contact information, and bio of 150 words or less.
  • A succinct (one page or less) outline of your proposal including theme, content, brief participant bios, and how the event will contribute to the festival.  See succeed2gether.org for details of past programs.

We would like to include local voices and give those who are under-represented in the mainstream literary world the opportunity to participate. We welcome submissions from Essex County and further afield in NY/NJ, but please note we do not cover travel expenses.

Submissions are open until midnight on February 28, 2022. We will inform you by March 14, 2022, if your submission has been accepted for the festival. All events are currently planned to take place on Festival Day, Saturday May 7, 2022. We may also schedule poetry readings, workshops and writing classes before or after this date.
