Mo Rocca: Mobituaries

March 28, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Mo Rocca

Don’t miss the chance to hear beloved CBS Sunday Morning correspondent and humorist Mo Rocca discuss Mobituaries: Great Lives Worth Reliving, a book that celebrates the dead people who have long fascinated him on March 28, Festival Day at Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival 2020. Come and hear Rocca bring these men and women back to life with dogged reporting and his trademark wit, as he talks with his co-author and college friend, MSU English Professor Jonathan Greenberg.

Mo Rocca has always loved obituaries—reading about the remarkable lives of global leaders, Hollywood heavyweights, and innovators who changed the world. But not every notable life has received the send-off it deserves. Rocca’s quest to right that wrong inspired Mobituaries, his #1 hit podcast. Now with Mobituaries, the book, he has gone much further, with all new essays on artists, entertainers, sports stars, political pioneers, founding fathers, and more. Even if you know the names, you’ve never understood why they matter…until now.

Tickets ($35) include a copy of the book Mobituaries.

Mo Rocca is a correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning, host of The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation, and host and creator of the Cooking Channel’s My Grandmother’s Ravioli, in which he learned to cook from grandmothers and grandfathers across the country. He’s also a frequent panelist on NPR’s hit weekly quiz show Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!Rocca spent four seasons as a correspondent on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Jonathan Greenberg is Professor of English and Chair of the English Department at Montclair State University, and the author of The Cambridge Introduction to Satire, and Modernism, Satire, and the Novel.

This event is part of Succeed2gether’s fourth annual Montclair Literary Festival, which will take place from March 25 to 29, 2020.
