Madeline Miller: Circe

March 28, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Madeline Miller

Don’t miss the chance to hear novelist Madeline Miller speak with her editor Lee Boudreaux about her phenomenally successful retelling of the life of the Greek goddess, Circe, on March 28, Festival Day at Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival 2020.

Described as “bold and subversive” (The New York Times), “blisteringly modern” (The Times) and “a daring feminist take on a classic narrative” (O Magazine), Circe has won numerous awards and accolades, and was an instant #1 New York Times bestseller.

With unforgettably vivid characters, mesmerizing language and page-turning suspense, Circe is a triumph of storytelling, an intoxicating epic of family rivalry, palace intrigue, love and loss, as well as a celebration of indomitable female strength in a man’s world.

Tickets ($25) will include an advanced paperback copy of Circe, available for pick up at Watchung Booksellers after April 14, 2020.

Madeline Miller has taught and tutored Latin, Greek, and Shakespeare to high school students for over 15 years. The Song of Achilles, her first novel, was awarded the 2012 Orange Prize for Fiction and was a New York Times bestseller. Her second novel, Circe, was winner of the Goodreads Choice Award, and was widely named best book of the year.

Lee Boudreaux is Vice President and Editorial Director of Lee Boudreaux Books. She joined Little, Brown in 2014 after nine years as Editorial Director of Ecco, a division of HarperCollins. Novels she has edited have won the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Orange Prize, the PEN/Hemingway Award, and have been finalists for the National Book Award, the Booker prize, and the PEN/Faulkner Award.
