2021 Festival

2021 began with a special online presentation of 2020 National Book Award for Fiction finalist Deesha Phillyaw talking about her book The Secret Lives of Church Ladies. You can see the talk here.

Then Succeed2gether’s Montclair Literary Festival held a ‘Global Voices’ series of online events in March featuring authors and poets from England, Scotland, Ireland, Korea, Iran, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Ecuador, Spain, and the Caribbean, including Imbolo Mbue, Kevin Barry, Frances Cha, Cherie Jones, Pilar Fraile Amador, Andrew Motion, Douglas Stuart, and Alan Cumming.

Legendary UK singer and guitarist Richard Thompson launched his memoir Beeswing: Losing My Voice and Finding My Way 1967-1975 with iconic singer-songwriter Elvis Costello in April 2021.

And then in June 2021 renowned storyteller Salman Rushdie spoke with author and Pulitzer Prize-finalist Nathan Englander about Salman’s latest book Languages of Truth: Essays 2003–2020.  You can see this talk here.

The fifth annual Montclair Literary Festival took place on Saturday October 2 and Sunday October 3, 2021, with a combination of live and online events. The full schedule can be seen here. Authors included Joyce Carol Oates, Colm Tóibín, Paul Auster, Qian Julie Wang, Stevie Van Zandt, Katie Kitamura, Henry Winkler, and Tiphanie Yanique.
