Revising Your Work to Get it Published.

March 24, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

$35.00

For all writers, revision, self-editing, and rewriting are essential to develop highly polished work. Real revision is about the true definition of the word: to re-see. And it’s hard work! Come explore techniques that make the process more palatable and maybe even fun. Learn how sharp revision and self-editing can elevate writing, improve and deepen stories, and enhance writing craft. Discover how to look at your own work, see it anew, and use what you find to produce a much-improved next version.

Taught by Lisa Romeo, author of Starting with Goodbye: A Daughter’s Memoir of Love after Loss (University of Nevada Press, May 2018). Her short work is listed in Best American Essays 2018 and BAE 2016, and published in popular and literary venues, including New York Times, O The Oprah Magazine, Longreads, Under the Sun, Brevity, The Nervous Breakdown, Inside Jersey, Hippocampus and many others. Lisa teaches with Bay Path University’s MFA program and formerly taught with Rutgers and Montclair State Universities. A former equestrian journalist and public relations specialist, she completed an MFA degree at Stonecoast (University of Southern Maine), is an editor with two literary journals, and the recipient of several grants and awards. Lisa lives in northern New Jersey with her husband and sons.
