Current Educational Programs 

After-School Tutoring Program (ASTP)

More than 150 students from the Montclair area in grades K-12 are tutored at no cost on a one-on-one basis by volunteer tutors, from the community. Tutors include retirees from industry and education, honors high-school students, students from area colleges and universities. Students receive one-hour sessions in either math/science, language arts/social studies, or subject specific requests, at the Montclair Public Library. Tutors provide weekly notes of student progress.  This program is run from September-May. We also have a book buddy program for students grades K-3, in which middle school honor students work with elementary students to improve early literacy skills. After-school Enrichment Workshop

Enrichment workshops, such as writing, violin, chess, and robotics are offered in small groups in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Classes have been offered in computer aided design and drafting, acting, nutrition, computer coding, and game design. Sessions are taught by qualified teachers and instructors.

Summer Workshop Modules 

Workshops are presented for parents and children to help with their child’s education at home and in school. The workshop material covers topics such as reading comprehension / fluency, math, study habits, strategies for success, and empowerment.

Summer Enrichment Program

Summer enrichment program is offered to area students to help prevent ‘summer slide’ so students can maintain their skills and enter the fall semester ready to achieve. Classes in math, science, language arts, art and music, and movement are offered daily during this four-week session. Classes are taught by qualified instructors in a small-group sessions.

Pathways Forward Mentoring Program to help prepare students for college and a successful career.

Montclair Literary Festival 

Promotes reading for all and brings celebrated authors to town.

Food For Families

Eligible students from our tutoring program can pick up grocery bags filled with fresh produce and nutritious food from Toni’s Kitchen’s.
